Learning to Animate


Today in Kotare we are learning to use explain everything to make an animation. We chose a story that we had been reading to re-tell. The students had to lasso their character and then they also could look at different clip arts to add to the animation. Then the students re-told the story using their voice and sound effects. Today we even were able to use our new stylis pens on the Ipads.
We will share some of the finished animations later in the week.

    Hello! Your class looks so good at making animations and we can't wait to see the final product. What story did you base your animation on??? Room 7 would love to know! What was the name of the story and how did you read the story? Was it in your individual reading groups or a class read aloud?

    What is the picture in your second photo please? We wondered if it was the sun or a planet? Our class has just studied the solar system and we have learnt about the planets that include - pluto, venus, earth, mercury, mars, jupiter, uranus, saturn and neptune.

    Spencer learnt that the sun is 4.6 billion years old. Soana shared that the sun is a star. Pluto is a dwarf planet. Easter learnt that Mercury is the smallest planet. Tuakana understands that Matariki is the elder sister and she guides her 6 younger sisters.

    As a class we are looking forward to seeing all your work on animations.

      Kia ora,
      We were aloud to choose any story we had read to animate, we used explain everything to do our animations. We loved making the animations because it was fun. I enjoyed lassoing my pictures. We are still working on our animations and we will share them when we have finished them.

    Hi Kotare Whanau!

    Wow your class look like they are working really hard on their animations! They look much more difficult than how we make ours. We have been practicing making animations using google slides and using the duplicate tool. Did you know that duplicate is the control button and the D button pushed at the same time?

    What was the hardest part of your animations?

    Hi my name is Rangi. Yesterday we did cross country my friend Spencer came 2nd in cross country we had to run around the cort, we had to do 3-4 laps then it was time for prize giving Spencer achieved a prize. Then we did zumda.

    Tena Koutou Kotare whanau school. I see you are doing some ipad time and learning about space.. The interesting part was that you were using an ipad. This reminded me when I used ipads when I was 5 years old and now I use chromebooks. Why did you choose to post this?
